Max traveled alone. That was just how it had to be. He was ten-years old. He didn’t need anyone telling him what to do. He already knew downtown Chicago could boast some of the finest trash cans in America. Max didn’t care where his meals came from. Now one might understand this story better by realizing that Max is a dog. He’d heard someone call him a grungy retriever so he guessed that was his breed.
