The Current Ghost
Tommy was only seven years old, and he did not like to go in his daddy’s garage. It wasn't the tarp-covered furniture or machines that made funny noises that caused the young boy concern. It was the ghost. The Tillman’s garage was haunted; of this Tommy was certain.
His window looked right into those of the detached, outbuilding. Each night he lay there pretending not to notice the lights flickering on and off. He knew his parents were sleeping. Who was playing with the lights? One morning he appeared at breakfast looking very tired.
"What is the matter, son. You don't look as if you have slept at all." his dad said.
Though the ghost had started his mischief weeks before, Tommy had never told his parents. He was too afraid that they may laugh at him; worse yet, they may have gone out there. The boy shivered.
Tommy's mom felt his forehead. "He doesn't feel like he has a fever." With that, she continued to prepare his lunch and sent him off to school.
When the big yellow bus returned him to the driveway, Tommy raced toward the house. Handyman Harry was there. Tommy loved to put on his toy tool-belt and follow the aging serviceman around. Last week they fixed a fence and put up a new mailbox.
"Hello there, young helper!" Harry called as Tommy bounded toward the work truck.
"What are we doing today?" the boy asked. Maybe they would get to paint something!
"Well it would seem we have an electrical problem." Harry said. "You probably know that electricity is a form of energy that makes your lights and gadgets work. read next
